Exercise Log 8.29.14 (Frick Park Run & Bouldering!)
7.15 mile run in Frick Park today. Gorgeous weather, great run! Afterwards, had 2 hours of bouldering at the Climbing Wall gym, so a pretty full day for fitness for a non-lifting day.

Today was Front Squat & Bench Press day of cycle 4. Front Squats: 4 sets of 1 rep @ 150lbs + 3 speed reps @ 130lbs. Drop set to failure of 9 reps @ 115lbs. Bench Press: First time in a long time I was on the flat barbell bench press. I think I’ll add […]
I have been slacking on my running so today I decided to get out for a nice jog, 5.1 miles in Monroeville Community Park. Just a nice, relaxing day. I meant to go a lot further (probably 8 miles) but honestly, my cardio conditioning is completely shot, so I’ll take what I can get.
Today was a nice kayaking trip down the Youghigheny river, probably about 7 miles of kayaking or about 2 1/2 hours on the river. No other workout today but that was a very sufficient one.
Okay I was feeling completely miserable from being sick so I skipped out of the regular workout routine entirely just to exercise at home. It was fun, a unique diversion from the day to day grind, and let me feel like I was letting the body really rest up. 50 reps chin-ups sets of 3-5 […]
Flunked out of the Rachel Carson Challenge this year, had poor choice in footwear (used an old pair of boots I never used for hiking before due to concerns with mud and traction and their worn out soles were like hiking on sandpaper) and my feet were bloody and spent by the second checkpoint, after […]
Today I had no real workout, just hit the indoor rock climbing gym for two hours and did my best to challenge myself. Felt real good afterwards, like I got a good workout in. Didn’t have all the energy in the world to hit it, just a lot going on lately.
I had a nice 3 mile hike after a long weekend of work, didn’t have time for anything else and being a Sunday, the gyms weren’t open. Still though, was a good time and enjoyed myself. Just logging for the sake of it.
This morning had a 5K Run on the River. My goal was to run this 5K at close to or better than my old 5K PR of 23:58. I had however not done enough training much of my cardio fell off after the half marathon. I was expecting to perform poorly, but managed to finish […]
My second workout day of the new cycle was my new developmental day, but that took a back seat a bit to the fact that it was also testing out a new gym. The new gym was interesting, it had a lot of equipment, was very quiet in comparison to my normal gym so very […]
My book that I wrote about a founding father who finds himself lost in time, set in the 2003-2006 post 9/11 Bush era of politics. Free for reading online, although I’ve abandoned efforts to get it published.

Socialism WORKS! is a short website presentation I put together years ago with help from a friend. It is something of a snarky take on Socialism, critical of the advantages of Socialism from various origins of the idea.
