Exercise Log 6.26.14 (Bench Press & Deadlift Day, No Cardio)

By phoebusapollo on Thu Jun 26 2014

Bench Press & Deadlift Day. First cycle again of the new 6 week cycle. Uncustomary short logs because I’m playing catch up. Decline Bench Press: 1) 5 reps @ 150lbs. 2) 5 reps @ 150lbs. 3) 5 reps @ 160lbs. Deadlift: 1) 3 reps @ 260lbs. 2) 3 reps @ 260lbs. 3) 2 reps @ […]

Exercise Log 6.23.14 (Front Squat & Bench Press Day)

By phoebusapollo on Mon Jun 23 2014

I’m counting today as the end of this training cycle, aside from bouldering and the failed Rachel Carson hike, I also helped a friend move all weekend so I’m counting all three of those things as an informal “dev day”. So all I need to do is this workout to finish up. It went well […]

Exercise Log 6.21.14 (Rachel Carson Challenge – Failure)

By phoebusapollo on Sat Jun 21 2014

Flunked out of the Rachel Carson Challenge this year, had poor choice in footwear (used an old pair of boots I never used for hiking before due to concerns with mud and traction and their worn out soles were like hiking on sandpaper) and my feet were bloody and spent by the second checkpoint, after […]

Exercise Log 6.20.14 (Bouldering!)

By phoebusapollo on Fri Jun 20 2014

Today I had no real workout, just hit the indoor rock climbing gym for two hours and did my best to challenge myself. Felt real good afterwards, like I got a good workout in. Didn’t have all the energy in the world to hit it, just a lot going on lately.

Exercise Log 6.18.14 (Bench Press & Deadlift Day)

By phoebusapollo on Wed Jun 18 2014

Speeding up my logs at this point so expect this to be a little shorter. Bench Press & Deadlift Day, on my final workout cycle. Decline Bench Press: Used 175lbs as my estimated max, felt it was a little low after assessing it. Only serious issue was liftoff, pressing the bar was fine. Feel like […]

Exercise Log 6.17.14 (Deadlift & Front Squat Day)

By phoebusapollo on Tue Jun 17 2014

So begins the 6th and final cycle of my 6 week/cycle program. I’m really enjoying the progress of the program so far and feel like I’m making steady gains. The structure of the program is fun, and I love that as I go I get to tweak and make it better. One chronic issue of […]

Exercise Log 6.15.14 (Cardio Only)

By phoebusapollo on Sun Jun 15 2014

I had a nice 3 mile hike after a long weekend of work, didn’t have time for anything else and being a Sunday, the gyms weren’t open. Still though, was a good time and enjoyed myself. Just logging for the sake of it.

Exercise Log 6.16.14 (Dev Day, No Cardio)

By phoebusapollo on Sat Jun 14 2014

Dev Day record for the end of cycle 5. Wanted an arm and shoulder focus. First, bicep work… Concentration Curls (No-Momentum): 3 sets of 8 reps @ 35lbs. Spider Curls (No-Momentum): Not a very good place to do this on the gym’s preacher curl station due to the way it’s designed, but got away with […]

Exercise Log 6.14.14 (Run on the River 5K)

By phoebusapollo on Sat Jun 14 2014

This morning had a 5K Run on the River. My goal was to run this 5K at close to or better than my old 5K PR of 23:58. I had however not done enough training much of my cardio fell off after the half marathon. I was expecting to perform poorly, but managed to finish […]

Socialism WORKS!

Socialism WORKS! is a short website presentation I put together years ago with help from a friend. It is something of a snarky take on Socialism, critical of the advantages of Socialism from various origins of the idea.
