Exercise Log 3.11.14 (Leg Day + Cardio)

Quick log for leg day. Was low energy today but somehow pulled it out… daylight savings plus sleeping in late to adjust the sleep schedule for an overnight shift = low pep. Hit a difficult spot on front squats though, which sucked.

Front Squat: Tried my best to go for a new max since I increased my bench press, I figured it was about due time to increase my front squat. Around set 3 I was going to go for a new max but I was getting a little crowded in the gym, I don’t generally try to do new max lifts when I can’t focus. Anyways, by the time I got to it after the sets were over I was too fatigued to make it happen, perhaps next time. Set 1) 5 reps @ 145lbs. Set 2) 5 reps @ 155lbs. Set 3) 5 reps @ 145lbs. Set 4) 5 reps @ 135lbs. Set 5) 8 reps @ 115lbs. Final set wasn’t really a set, tried and failed 175 twice and failed 165.

Angled Leg Press / Calf Raises: Sets 1 & 2) 10 reps presses/10 reps raises @ 270lbs. Sets 3 & 4) 10/10 @ 360lbs. Set 5) 8/8 @ 450lbs.

Standing Lunges: 3 sets of 10 reps @ 60lbs (curl bar)

Quad Isolation Leg Extension: Sets 1-3) 8 reps @ 225lbs. Set 4) 8 reps @ 240lbs.

Hamstring Curls: 3 sets of 10 reps @ 110lbs. Slow tempo particularly with the last set.

Seated Calf Raises: Set 1) 8 reps @ 90lbs. Sets 2 & 3) 8 reps @ 135lbs.

Did some light stretching afterwards. Later this evening I did 3.5 miles with a somewhat poor pace outdoors, it was fantastic weather (50’s) and clear. Very nice time to get out, but it’s just a temporary thing, winter is still in effect it seems.
