Exercise Log 5.28.14 (Bench Press & Deadlift Day, No Cardio)

By phoebusapollo on Wed May 28 2014

Alright today was Bench Press & Deadlift day just wanted to record a quick log. We are in cycle 3 of the training plan, an extra hypertrophy training cycle… repeat of last week with either greater volume, greater resistance or more demanding technique. I’ll keep this pretty simple because it’s more or less a repeat […]

Exercise Log 5.27.14 (Boyce Park Trail Hike)

By phoebusapollo on Tue May 27 2014

Just wanted to log a short note, today was a rest day from the weight training but I did get out and do some cardio with a friend. No pictures to share, but today was muggy and hot with intermittent thunderstorms. Thankfully it only lightly sprinkled during the actual run, which was through Boyce Park. […]

Exercise Log 5.26.14 (Deadlift & Front Squat Day, No Cardio)

By phoebusapollo on Mon May 26 2014

Alright today was a new day of my third cycle of my fitness program… the next four workouts will be focused on hypertrophy adding rep ranges (8-12 reps) with a little extra than what I did last cycle. I’m also testing out new splits on the lifting to see where I’m at. This workout was […]

Exercise Log 5.25.14 (Dev Day + Boyce Park Nature Hike)

By phoebusapollo on Sun May 25 2014

Today is developmental day, and quite a fun one at that. My priority on dev day from now on is shoulder rehab, so I’m focusing on strengthening the shoulder muscles particularly the posterior delts and upper back. I’ve been trying corrective posture, stretching and diminishing my weight levels in front presses… hoping all this cumulatively […]

Exercise Log 5.23.14 (Front Squat & Bench Press Day, No Cardio)

By phoebusapollo on Fri May 23 2014

Today was workout C in the first hypertrophy training cycle of my new workout plan, a Front Squat/Bench Press day. Like the last time, I am substituting light weight dumbbell chest presses for the bench press until my shoulders are healed up from the bad impingement they’ve had. Impingement got worse from work, where I […]

Exercise Log 5.22.14 (5K Training Run)

By phoebusapollo on Thu May 22 2014

Rest from weight training today, so figured I’d get a nice run in. 4.37 miles at a 8:51 pace. A slight improvement from the previous run, but nothing fancy. Still got a ways to go to even restore my previous 5K pace.

Exercise Log 5.21.14 (Bench Press & Deadlift Day, No Cardio)

By phoebusapollo on Wed May 21 2014

Alright again on cycle 2 of my new training program, which is a hypertrophy cycle. This time my primary lifts are Bench Press & Deadlifts. Due to shoulder impingement, the bench press is being ditched for high volume low weight dumbbell chest presses. This seems to just be safer, but still isolates and stimulates the […]

Exercise Log 5.20.14 (Deadlift & Front Squat Day, No Cardio)

By phoebusapollo on Tue May 20 2014

Alright short log for the first day of my first hypertrophy cycle. Higher volume, lower weight is the theme. Keeping the log short as I’m a few days behind in recording, I have a video to share though so it’ll get to the front page (boo!). Today is Deadlifts/Front Squats. Put a lot of work […]

Exercise Log 5.19.14 (5K Training Run)

By phoebusapollo on Mon May 19 2014

Rest day today for my weight training but managed to get a good run in. I was a bit sluggish and had a poor pace, but felt like I’d be good to get my legs moving again to prepare for my next 5K. Had a fairly substandard pace despite pushing myself, just was an off […]

Exercise Log 5.18.14 (Front Squat & Bench Press Day, No Cardio)

By phoebusapollo on Sun May 18 2014

The last day of my first week cycle of my new program, yay! The cycle ends with Front Squat & Bench Press Day. Being the first week’s cycle the theme is basic conditioning. Just laying down to record how it went! Front Squat: Felt real good, then bad, then good about it. First did my […]

Socialism WORKS! is a short website presentation I put together years ago with help from a friend. It is something of a snarky take on Socialism, critical of the advantages of Socialism from various origins of the idea.
