Exercise Log 4.9.14 (Dev Day, No Cardio)

This is development day, which means for the next few weeks catching up on my leg day work that I missed to go on my longer runs. Again keeping the log short for record’s sake. I decided to pair the leg workout with some chest exercising, since I didn’t get a great pump last week from chest day. I feel like I may have aggrevated my shoulder impingment with this workout a bit, so gonna be careful with that on chest day, perhaps abandon bench pressing altogether until after my vacation in May.

Front Squat: Set 1) 5 reps @ 135lbs. Sets 2 & 3) 5 reps @ 145lbs. Sets 4 & 5) 5 reps @ 155lbs (split sets as I started to fatigue).

Back Squat: Went straight into back squatting where I left off on front squatting. Nice transition. 3 sets 5 reps @ 155lbs.

Angled Leg Press / Calf Raises: 3 sets of 10 reps presses / 12 reps raises @ 270lbs. 2 sets 10/12 @ 360lbs.

Next was the chest makeup work…

Flat Bench: 5 sets 8 reps @ 125lbs.

Dumbbell Chest Press: Felt like done right, this is a good way to isolate chest without aggrevating the shoulder impingement, but some caution is still needed I did have a few bad reps near the very end that I felt was not good for the shoulder. I will go a wee little bit lighter on next chest day and do these primarily for chest, rather than do bench pressing. 4 sets of 12 reps @ 40lbs.
