Exercise Log 11.18.13 (Leg Day, No Cardio)

I had a real late night Monday night so I skipped the writeup, but I still need to do my routine recording of my workout, so I’m going to keep this short. Monday was leg day, had a standard leg workout, front squats and forgot to bring straps out onto the floor so my front squatting was done with a clean grip. Because of this I tried to optimize the weight a bit, although I did fail to break any new ground. As I recall I did stiff legged deadlifts, leg presses/calf raises, goblet squats instead of back squats, hip press extensions and the dread march.

Short writeup I know, but I didn’t record it until the day after… was in a rush to go meet a friend for yoga. As for that, yoga class was pretty relaxing and the stretching I feel does compliment my workout routine. I realized something about yoga today, mainly that the hand poses and other superficial elements of it are really just cues… something to do with yourself that supresses your natural attention deficit impulse and keeps you focused on the breathing exercises (our yoga class is primarily a breathing focused one). So while superficial and a bit silly, they are just cues… now that I think of it this way, it helps me really dismiss that and just appreciate it for what it is… a free stretching/breathing class and a way to relax. I’ll definitely keep it in my routine.
